Idler Selection Criteria

One of the corner stones of Melco's success is our ability to design product in accordance with specific applications and duties. Using in-house developed computer software, Melco considers all the parameters within which a specific conveyor operates such as environment, belt tensions, misalignment, throughput, idler pitch etc to ensure the correct sizing of roll, shaft and bearing, and that the appropriate sealing system and frame design are utilised.

The criteria for roller selection are:

a) Shaft Deflection and	b) Bearing Life
